Umbrella project and how to sub-divide translators project

I have created this project because I have realised that the writers who are most famous for their translations are not yet being acknowledged on Geni. For example I came across Margaret Hunt (Raine) pen name: Averil Beaumont who translated the Brothers Grimm, and created her profile. I'm afraid it's another can of worms though! So many translations of so many books in so many languages and into so many more languages!

As if to demonstrate the problem Wikipedia have a list of translators of works into English and Margaret Hunt named above isn't included (or the Brothers Grimm)

The question is do we follow Wikipedia's divisions and have a sub-project for translatiors into English and other sub-projects for translations into other languages?

Great project idea, thank you.

I would keep it simple.

- this project: translators into English.
- cut the text way down. I'm interested in who the translators are - not all the subtleties of their professional practice.
- leave to the other language groups to make their own "translator" projects. If there get to be a few, "then" group. I don't expect that will be tomorrow.

I agree - keep it simple with links to the more detailed information. I am not going to read through all the blurb about translators - it is beyond the scope of this GENi project. If anyone wants to look at an in-depth study they can go to an external page?

Clarify the scope and intention of the project - they will materialise!

There are also quite a few translators of ancient metaphysical and astrological texts who didn't make that list.

Yes, I'm sure. It isn't a completely comprehensive list and other names can always be added but it's a fairly long list to start with.
